Key Partnerships
Ausplas is Australia’s national trade exhibition for the plastics processing industry. It has been held every three years since the early 80’s, with the last event having taken place in October 2008.
In a significant new development, Ausplas will co-locate with two other major manufacturing industry trade exhibitions, Austech and National Manufacturing Week.
These three trade shows will occupy the entire 30,000-sqm floor space at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Although each event will be in separate and well identified bays of the MCEC, they will be presented ‘as one’ without dividing walls and with shared entry, registration and general facilities to allow visitors easy access to all points of interest.
The co-location will offer significant benefits to exhibitors and visitors alike by allowing trade buyers to take in, ‘under the one roof’, all the latest in equipment, products and technology on offer from domestic and international suppliers at what will be Australia’s largest and most comprehensive manufacturing industry event.
Plastics industry observers see the new May time frame as a positive as this will facilitate the showing at Ausplas of new technology released in October 2011 in Düsseldorf.
Ausplas has always performed best when it has been co-located with one or more other trade shows, which have a common appeal for the Ausplas visitor profile. The organisers believe there are many synergies between the three shows, both from an exhibitor perspective and those people wanting to visit. All three shows have been successful exhibitions in their own right but the ability to run the three together will make this a ‘must attend’ event.
Under new arrangements, Ausplas 2011 will be co-located with two other highly regarded trade shows containing a range of exhibitor categories with common interests for the Ausplas visitor. These two events are National Manufacturing Week and Austech.
Based on historical audited data the total attendance across the three events is expected to be up to 14,000 individual visitors. This arrangement has the potential to provide Ausplas exhibitors with a significant cross section of new buyers and specifiers of technology and equipment to be used to provide plastics as a replacement for traditional materials.
Ausplas will be located alongside Austech, at the Lorimer Street end of the MCEC precinct close to the new Convention Centre and Hilton Hotel and the South Wharf retail and tourism precinct. This relationship in itself represents great potential as these two events have many areas of common interest in manufacturing technology.
To continue the strength of the relationship current plans are to co-locate Ausplas with these two trade shows again in Sydney at the Sydney Showground in Homebush in mid 2014.
